The project locates in the centre of Sydney CBD. Being former Water Board Building built in 1939, it presents a rich overlay of various historical layers. The client proposed to transform the state listed heritage building into a 5-star boutique hotel with 172 keys.
Along the project life cycle, project manager actively liaising with government authority to ensure approval delivery within tight program. Following by contractor tender and contract execution. After construction commencement, the project manager is acting as client representative to ensure every detail is delivered to standard and finally handed over to hotel operator.
The difficulty of the project exists in its heritage nature and consequential issue occurred. The ultimate task is to create a dialogue between heritage fabric and new operational life. Project manager has worked with authorities, institutions and specialist from different levels and ensure a prompt handover to the operator. The project completes and launch its soft opening at Chirstmas in 2015.
