The Elizabeth Hotel is conveniently located about 10 minutes’ walk from Redfern Train Station. The project comprises of around 60 rooms and suites to serve the growing tourist numbers in Sydney. Other facilities provided include an outdoor exercise area, rooftop garden, a restaurant / café and basement parking for the hotel guests. The design of the project responds to the heritage listed church building next door, and relates to the neighbourhood character in terms of build form, scale and materials.

The project is very challenging as the design needs to address many planning controls imposed by Council, and the site’s previous use as a service station complicates the approval process as there is another environmental management and remediation layer to resolve.

Enhance is engaged to provide comprehensive development managements services. We established and managed the design team, advised the design direction and style of the project, and advised on the positioning of the project in the market. Enhance guided the team to successful DA submission according to the pre-set program for the project.
